0.1.6 — 2026-10-15
The production build no longer downloads its typefaces.
- Source Serif 4, Source Sans 3, and IBM Plex Mono are files in the site. A build that cannot reach Google Fonts still finishes.
0.1.5 — 2026-10-15
A failed open no longer blocks the rest of the visit, and ordinary SQL can mention the operator names.
- Reset and the next open try again after the reading room fails to open. A seed that fails is closed before the error is shown.
PIVOT,UNPIVOT, andMATCH_RECOGNIZEinside a comment or a quoted string run as ordinary SQL. An edited operator statement still does not run.
0.1.4 — 2026-10-15
The Oracle statements stay fixed, and the rows come with a walkthrough.
MATCH_RECOGNIZE,PIVOT, andUNPIVOTcannot be edited. MySQL does not support them.- The source repository is https://github.com/jmaret/scriptorium.
- Under the grid, the lesson walks through Newton's two declines, the NULL in England's manuscript column, and Euclid's birth and death labels.
0.1.3 — 2026-10-15
Run on the operator lessons shows an Oracle result.
MATCH_RECOGNIZEillustrates Newton's two-step decline: scholar 8, 1666 through 1669, two steps.PIVOTillustrates the region counts, with NULL where a kind is missing.UNPIVOTillustrates birth and death asBIRTH_YEARandDEATH_YEAR.- The grid is labeled Oracle. The page still does not execute those statements. An edited operator statement is left unrun.
0.1.2 — 2026-10-15
Rows turned into columns, and columns turned back into rows.
- Pivot counts manuscripts, papers, and treatises by region with
SUM(CASE ...). - Unpivot stacks birth and death into one year column with
UNION ALL. - The
PIVOTandUNPIVOToperators are written out to read. MySQL does not implement them, and neither does the page.
0.1.1 — 2026-10-15
Moving frames, and one pattern the engines do not run.
- A moving total and a moving average over the current reading and the one before it.
EXCLUDE CURRENT ROW,EXCLUDE GROUP, andEXCLUDE TIESon a frame of peer rows.MATCH_RECOGNIZEis written out to read. MySQL does not implement it, and neither does the page. A reading lesson opens with Read it.
0.1.0 — 2026-10-15
The first reading room.
- Lessons from choosing columns through joins, grouping, windows, and a recursive citation walk.
- A playground on the seeded library, with Run, Reset, and a result grid.
- MySQL notes where the dialect differs. Stored procedures and user variables are presented to read, and they do not run in the page.
- Vision and architecture pages rendered from the repository documents.
- Conceptual, logical, and physical drawings on the architecture page.
- The table list scrolls inside its panel. On a narrow screen the name sits above the navigation.
